Unfortunately I tried this solution and it still doesn't fix my issue. I followed the guide step by step and was still unable to get it to work.
The weird thing is that it works through the command line however it does not work at the search bar 😕 not sure what else to do.

I want to run iplocation client_ip for a given sourcetype automatically. For example if i run
I dont want to run the command iplocation.
I would like to automatically look it up for this sourcetype.
index= sourcetype=authentication-logs
| iplocation client_ip
Does anyone know how I can achieve this?

Honestly I'm not sure what the issue is. The only thing I see in the app_catchpoint.log is

I'm currently working on this at my job and I think we are behind a proxy im going to test this when I get home and see if I could get any data on my local dev instance. Is there any ETA on when the app will release an update? Also is there any workaround to this?
I have also set verbose to true inside of the auth_handler.py script but nothing useful is in the logs..

I have followed this guide provided by Catchpoint.

and I am unable to get any data into Splunk. Contacted support and they were going to open up a ticket for me but I don't really have time to wait. I just wanted to know if anyone else has tried to install this app and actually got it to work. Did the app work right out the box ? or did you have to follow some other steps other than the ones outlined in the guide.

Okay gotcha that makes lots of sense. I will be testing this out.
Now another question maybe you can answer.
The forwarder which will have the add-on installed will be receiving traffic via UDP. Will I have to create a new UDP data inputs on my indexers as well ?

I could not find this answer anywhere. I want to ask for some advice installing the Fortinet FortiGate App for Splunk.
My set-up is:
1 search head.
1 deployment-server.
1 Splunk master
2 indexers.
My question is when configuring the Fortinet to forward its data to the indexers, what host will it be sending to?
My master indexer uses indexer discovery so when i install a new forwarder, i usually just point it to the master.
Can I do the same with the Fortinet FortiGate App for Splunk?
Or would it make more sense to create a data collection node and then forward the data to the indexers?
