Hello Experts, I am using Splunk Dashboard Studio with Splunk Enterprise version 8.6.2. I have a simple table in my dashboard showing some search results, no scrollbars seen in the dashboard itself, works fine. When I Download the dashboard as PDF ( or PNG ), the table has a horizontal scroll bar even though the data displayed is small enough to fit in to the table. I have tried using "Overflow" : "None" , overflow-x :None, fontsize properties in the code editor, the PDF export still has the scrollbar. Attaching some screenshot dashboard screenshot with no horizontal scroll bar Same dashboard after using download as PDF Any ideas on how to remove this ? Appreciate your help in advance. Regards

Just in case if anyone else runs in to this post. I solved this problem using saved searches that takes dynamic inputs for previous months data and then using eval data =[ savedsearch | return output ] option to get the search results.

index=_internal source=*metrics.log group=tcpin_connections | eval sourceHost=if(isnull(hostname), sourceHost,hostname) | dedup sourceHost | table sourceHost sourceIP os version | sort version Thanks for sharing this, but when we use this search string we get duplicates, where forwarders in the results list both hostnames and a duplicate records for each as IP address. So we have two results for each forwarder, one with hostname and another with just the IP. Also, the hostname column does not populate the IP address column.

The delete command has never worked predictably and always causes the metadata and actual data to get out of sync. I wish Splunk would just deprecate the command because it doesn't work.

Thanks Ken for the response. My requirements are as such that the required files would be present in the splunk server itself through an NFS mount or a share. I have a python script ready to be called through a dummy search that would go through the list if files in a folder and then subsequently run 'splunk add oneshot' command. All I need is an interface that would allow user to pick a folder that would be on the spunk server itself. I have looked at the UI examples and I am unable to find a way through simple XML. Looking at the Splunk -> Add data -> files and directors option itself, it seems like it is an App by itself ( data preview ) , not sure if we can somehow leverage this. sundar

There is a possibility to remove or temporarily hide an app from apps.splunk.com, but you need to submit a request for that. On the Hosting tab: I did receive your email and will follow up shortly.

hey folks: i'm afraid this fix did not actually make the cut for 6.1.4 or 6.1.5. it's currently targeted for 6.1.6, but i have to be clear here: unfortunately, we can never guarantee that a given fix will make it into a given release--it's always possible that a more urgent issue will force us to reprioritize the list. i apologize that Louis did not make this clear in his response. it is, however, fixed in 6.2, which has already shipped. thanks for your patience.

created an add-on which will call python script with result file. you should have python/shell script in the bin directory to be called by this script with results. I will post this add-on to splunk base soon.
