I was able to resolve the issue by adding the following to limits.conf

Now, I am able to do it by bypassing the authentication by setting authentication to none and using my SMTP server and setting the corporate email id in the send email command

Hi, I have a simple XML dashboard where I use a Java Script file to display check boxes against each record and then save the checked records to a KV store on a Submit button click
Now based on the the checked boxes, I want to run a search and save another set of records to other KV store on the same button click.
To do so, I want to avoid having the second search search in Java script file and want to have in in the simple xml where I can pass the variables from JS file before button click, please help me out if there is a way to do so

Hi,
Splunk gives me permission issues when I try to send email from a corporate email Id [email protected]. The error message is "command="sendemail", No suitable authentication method found. while sending mail to: [email protected]"
I use the following settings:
email Id: [email protected]
Mail Host: XXX.smtp.accenture.com
Security: Enable TLS
I tried using Host name as xxx.smtp.accenture.com:25/587 and security as None and Enable SSL also
The emails work fine when I use gmail id with following options
email Id: [email protected]
Mail Host: smtp.gmail.com:587
Security: Enable TLS
I couldn't find anything related, please help me out with resolution of this issue

Hi Hunters, The Start date won't do as there may be many days when no kit is installed but still many kits stand valid on that day. I missed to keep an empty date in the example but in real scenario, the many kits are deployed once and then few more are added and if any kit has a problem, it is removed

Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to calculate location wise weekly, monthly and total expected revenue for the devices installed. The data is in an Excel lookup as:
Device_Id Location_Id Start_Date End_Date
60000099 20 8/5/2017 10/5/2017
60000091 20 5/5/2017 10/5/2017
60000092 40 8/5/2017
60000093 50 7/5/2017 11/5/2017
In the expected result, I want the data for the time duration to be displayed as:
Date Location Number_of_Valid_Kits
5/5/17 20 1
6/5/17 20 1
7/5/17 20 1
7/5/17 30 1
8/5/17 20 2
8/5/17 30 2
8/5/17 40 2
and so on ...
I can evaluate the validity of kit based on start and end dates but I have no idea about how I can display all the data against each date so that I can search the data from the above format using dates and group it by the location_id

@ niketnilay, I had a same requirement and your answer fits it very well but I saw a strange behavior that when I refresh the dashboard, the css doesn't change anything. If I press edit or F12, the font size changes. So, while debugging, it shows that the CSS over rides the default properties but once I close the F12 console, the size reduce back to original
Has anyone noticed this behavior? is there any change that I need to make?

Thank you niketnilay, it worked very well for me for the single value panels. I also tried to use the same concept to change the location and size of the Values displayed in gauges. Is there a way to utilize the same script with minor twists and turns?

Hi,
I have multiple single values merged in single panel and I have mentioned the description in the caption. This caption has a very small size and displays in white reducing its visibility
I want to change the color to Black, increase its size and make it bold
Is there any simple way to do it in xml?

I had a similar requirement and it worked fine for me, but the each bar falls in one of three color segments, the other segments have zero value that leads to blank spaces in the Time chart

Now I want to send this email to different branch manager of branches 1, 2 and 4 and want to attach only part of alert result that is related to their branch. I have many branches in the same index so I don't want to create separate alerts for each of them
I am new to splunk so not very well strong with search language, please help me with possible modifications that should do to this alert search to solve the problem

Hi,
I am using geostats command to display the location wise data for India, at zoom level 7, the maps display the data at City level but if I try to enlarge the map to level 8 to display the data from different sources/ branches of my organization, the background shows blank (white). Is there any way to display the data more precisely for my locations in India

The time chart option is indeed helpful, but I have more than 20 sensors and it shows me the individual data for only 10 and rest as others. Is there any way to find the data for all 15 to 20 sensors or more if any?
Also, is there a way to identify the parameter for which the data is not being sent and display it in the same time chart?

The data from multiple sensors comes into SPlunk though a single DB connection as:
SensorId ParamA ParamB ParamC
1 33 92 79
2 39 87 91
3 42 84 99
Each row indexes as a different event in Splunk with same timestamp and different SensorId
I want to display the latest values of each parameter against each sensor Id and my search query is as follows:
sourcetype=aaa source=bbb | head 3|SensorId table ParamA ParamB ParamC | sort SensorId
It seems to work fine but I am not sure if it will work fine if one of the sensors stops to send data, please suggest a possible workaround to display Zero in such case
