HI,
We have an website, which is hosted on IIS 7 Server, We need to monitore the URL which is poinintng to that webserver for every 5 Mins.
Without any splunk App, can I setup the alert to check for every 5 mins for URL status.
IF the status is other than 200 then we have to raise an alert.
Please let me know how I can achive this.
Please Help.

Hi Bizza,
Thanks for you suggestion, can u go little deeper, and could you tell me how can I setup the alert script, currently I need to put this type of alert on 14 Unix servers, so how can my script jump into that server and find the files, and also , how can I redirect the command output/file output to the alert body.

Hi,
I need to know , whether splunk can be used for file monitoring purpose, If yes , How can I configure that.
Requirement : I have server folder path, where files will be ftp to this path and after arriving this file, I need to process. This file will come in an interval of 15Mins. So for every 15 Mins I Need to look into that folder and If the file is there then no need of doing anything. In case if file is not there then I need to raise a alert.

This is returing only total count, I need the _raw and host, so how can I write the search to get the _raw,host, If search count >=3.

23 Apr 2014 02:31:32,242 - 3338420948 [FtpTaskQueue] Error in Uploading Files
Here "Error in Uploading Files" has occured more than 3 times, at different times
so I need to display this error count as 3 under different hosts, I have areound 12 hosts whicha re have events like this.If the count is 2 for last one hour, then I should not display the host.

Hi,
Im having a error log file, which is having last 30 days error information and with time stamp when the error was occurred. Now how can we write a SEARCH string to get the last error appended to that error log file. I dont want to specify the date and search as I need to automate to run for every day.
Error Log File will be like
01-Feb-2014 09:09:12 Error Java custom error.
01-Feb-2014 09:30:30 Error Oracle error.
01-Feb-2014 14:45:30 Error Java error.

Thanks for your answer.
I think from Universal Forwarder will push the data from Unix machine to Splunk, if this happen, then will it hurt any network resources/network traffic. I need to monitor for every 2Mins of interval.
From Splunk cant we look/login into the other Unix/Windows server ?

How can I look into that server, with ssh servername/password
Goto Specified path like /User/bin/MyAppl/Logs
Take the latest log file
Search for any ERROR like Java error.
If any error is there then
