Splunk DB Connect: Why does the app keep on refreshing repeatedly and java bridge server says loading?

Hi

I am unable to get the Splunk DB Connect app to work. When I navigate to that app, it keeps on refreshing and java bridge server says loading.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Splunk dbx version 1.1.6, but still the app doesn't work and experiences a similar pattern of refreshing.

Is there something else that needs to be done?

Thanks,

Mohammed

I figured out the issue. It was a permission issue. My role did not have read access on dbx app. This was causing the java bridge server in load status and the app home page was continuously refreshing. But after providing read/ write access on the dbx app, the java bridge server started running and app page functioned without any refresh.

Hi. A few possibilities here:

Make sure to stop the Java Bridge Server before you perform the fresh install. See this troubleshooting doc that explains the correct steps:
http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/1.1.6/DeployDBX/Troubleshoot#Problem_upgrading_from_earlier...

If you've recently updated your version of JDK, make sure that your JAVA HOME path in Settings > DB Connect Configuration specifies the correct version of JDK. See this doc for details on setting up DB Connect after install:
http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/1.1.6/DeployDBX/Installtheconnector#Setup_Splunk_DB_Connect

There is also a known issue that causes this behavior and affects users with a role that inherits from the default dbx_user role (DBX-317). See this troubleshooting item for details and workaround:
http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/1.1.6/DeployDBX/Troubleshoot#The_DB_Connect_homepage_keeps_...

Good luck!
