We currently run splunk Version:7.3.1 with the Splunk Add-on for AWS and App for AWS both are supported by Splunk, we have installed a new verson of Splunk version 8 when checking for the Apps seem to be incompatible with the new version. Has any one had this issue if so how was it resolved.
The Splunk UI won't let you install an app that is marked as compatible with the version of Splunk you are using. That doesn't mean the app you want isn't compatible, it just hasn't been tested and marked as such in splunkbase yet.
You can always download the app from splunkbase to your PC then use "Install from file" to install it in Splunk. Do that in your Dev environment to verify the app works as expected.
