Dears I tried to install private app in my splunk cloud developer account, I have 14 days trial and my account is admin. I referred to this link to install private app https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/SplunkCloud/8.2.2201/Admin/PrivateApps#Install_private_apps_on_Splunk_Cloud_Platform. But I found there is no button install Install app from file. Would you please tell me how I can install an app from file for my splunk cloud account. Thanks very much!

Hi all, I applied an 14-days trail license for splunk cloud to develop an cloud app. I followed the link https://dev.splunk.com/enterprise/docs/releaseapps/manageprivatecloud to deploy a private app on cloud platform. However, when I launch the 'App Management' and click the 'Uploaded Apps' tag, the browser keeps 'loading' but not displaying the desired page. I checked the browser's console, the response indicates that '<msg type="WARN">DMC is disabled</msg>'. How can I fix this issue? Regards, Blake

I update an released app. When I install by local file on the portal and returned to the home page, the logo of my app was missing, so it is with the logo at the bar when I jumped into my app. I found that if I restart the splunkd process and login again, the logo display well. I got confused with that.

I have released an app for Splunk Enterprise. As Splunk Enterprise is kind of on-premise product and runs on customers' local host, I use file log to collect debug logs with reference to https://dev.splunk.com/enterprise/docs/developapps/addsupport/logging/loggingsplunkextensions. I can read the local file and index the logs in 'search' result. Now I need to migrate the app on Splunk Cloud. How can I collect the debug log for apps on cloud. Does the link still work on Cloud? If not, is there other guides for this?

Thanks for your help. I found that I trigger the splunkd as root, not splunk.

I pack an splunk app by tar command in an linux host, running as a root user. As a result the owner and group owner are both 'root'. After I installed to Splunk Enterprise, I found that the depressed directory and its files are all owned by 'root['. However, other installed app directories and files are belong to 'splunk'. So, should I su to splunk first and then pack the app file?
