I've known DB Connect 2 does not work with a Splunk Free License. But in DB Connect 3 it's like Splunk Free is not included in the prerequisites. And: This version of Splunk DB Connect is compatible with Splunk Platform versions 6.6.0 and later. https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/3.1.4/DeployDBX/Prerequisites With which functions can I use with a splunk free license if my enterprise trail license expires? Configuration -> Connection and Data Lab -> Input & Output? Thanks!

I have a same question here. I didn't unistall current DB connect and solve it. The true problem is not with the Source Type or index. When you click 'save' button, the search is not generated instantly if your Execution Frequency is set at a specific point of time (for me it is 0 9 * * * (every day at 9 am)). Your Source Type will not be created unitll then. Change the Execution Frequency to 60 (every 60 seconds) solve my question. I'm new to splunk and just record my situation here. Thanks.
