When try to run Update Calendar Usage Report under the Help menu in the Citrix XenDesktop 7 app I get the following error: Error in 'outputlookup' command: You have insufficient privileges to perform this operation.
I cannot find any information specific to the Citrix XenDesktop app or the 'outputlookup' error.

I found that using the WinHostMon sourcetype works better as the WMI sourcetype stopped reading after it encountered a space in the name of the service. It was also dedupping any services that had the same word before the space. WinHostMon reports correctly.
Here is the code I used:
index="windows" sourcetype="WinHostMon" source=service earliest="-24h@h" latest="now" |
stats latest(State) AS Status by host DisplayName |
rename DisplayName AS "Display Name"

Make sure when you install the universal forwarder that you use the command line switch LAUNCHSPLUNK=0
That stops the universal forwarder from starting after the installation is complete otherwise the splunk.exe clone-prep-clear-config command won't be able to clear all the files.
Make sure this is the last thing you do before you power off the master/golden image for the last time. If you reboot you will need to stop the universal forwarder service again and rerun the splunk.exe clone-prep-clear-config command again.

We have a number of Windows 10 desktops deployed and their conf files are the same as that used by the servers; however, the desktops are not showing up in the follwing dashboards/panels:
Performance Monitoring dashboard
Memory Metrics
LogicalDisk Metrics
System Metrics
Process Metrics
The desktops are reporting and showing up in the following panels:
CPU Metrics
PhysicalDisk Metrics
Network Metrics
Is this a Win 10 compatability issue?
Anyone else using the Splunk App for Windows Infrastructure to monitor desktop OSes?

We are using Citrix to deploy multiple servers from a master image. We have followed the directions in the http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.3.1/Forwarding/Makeadfpartofasystemimage doc and it works; however, when we go and look at the cloned images' server.conf file there is no [general] stanza. The cloned images' inputs.conf file does not contain an entry for host under the [default] stanza.
I'm glad the clone-prep-clear-config script works I just want to know how the UF is reporting the host name if it is not in those .conf files.

try this:
In order to collect WMI data from the remote machine, the user connecting must have rights on the remote machine. I'm confident that you will need to install splunk as a specific user and then give that user WMI rights on the collection target. In addition, 6.0.x and prior, your specific user will also have to be a member of the local admin group on the machine splunk is installed on.
