Hi,
I have a query, the definition of appendcols is as below.
"Appends the fields of the subsearch results with the input search results."
If input search does not fetch anything(zero events) what happens to the fields of sub search? How they are appended then? Do we get missing graph in visualization?
Please explain.

@Niketnilay,
I have DB inputs in DB connect V1 and i want them to moved to DB connect V3.
I checked the db_inputs.conf file but the formatting is totally different. Thats why i can't just copy the entire file as is.
Could you please let me know how I can do it? There are 100+ DB inputs and doing it manually one by one will take huge amount of time.

X-axis having 12 hours.
For each hour there should be columns corresponding to each host.
Every column should be stacked up with count of different IPs.

@niketnilay, I want to create a column chart at an hour interval.
There should be columns for each host and columns to be multicolored(differnet color for each unique IP) based on count of IPs and height of column to be equal to total count.
X-axis : hosts
Y-axis : count
this should be spread across 12 hours.

I want to create a dashboard for below.
There are two fields: "clientip" and "hosts".
I want to calculate the number of connections made by each IP in an hour for all available hosts. This data I need is for 12 hours.
I tried the below query, but it doesn't work..

I have created a saved search which execute at 4 hours interval. Based on it i have a dashboard panel which uses its result( I am using loadjob for that in post process query). The thing is that sometime i need to re-execute the saved search before its scheduled time so that i have fresh result.
Loadjob fetches the latest run result. If somehow, the saved search can be executed before four hour interval also, then change in schedule is not required.
That is why i am asking, is it possible. If so, how?

I have created a single value panel with rangemap in query. It displays a text in center based on which its background color changes.
Is there any way i can show legend for rangemap colors at bottom of this panel.
or an alternate way to show like green means this and red means that.

@renjith.nair , In standalone set up also there is incoming/outgoing traffic from forwarders. Does this not require certificate?
Or is it just for internal communication between search head and indexers.

We have a single splunk instance running, doing the job of both search head and indexer. On it i can't see any such warnings. No self signed or third party certificate is placed on it apart from splunk default ones.
One the new set up where we have separate servers for search head and indexer, I am getting this warning in logs.
The warnings should come on both, if default ones are not trust worthy.

I see the below warnings in the splunkd.log files on all my Splunk instances.
Could you please advise on how to resolve these? or can we ignore them?

I have two fields host and city. Host have two values, like x and y. I want x and y to be associated with background color.
So i want to create a panel where in center i just have the city name and its background color change based on x and y.
If it is x, background color should be green.
If it is y, background color should be orange.
Its easy to do it with single value panel. But that will show the digit and i want city name.
