Hi @ravinder1k , I've just updated the app on Splunk base with a version that supports Splunk v8. Let me know if it works for you as I haven't tested it on Windows, but I tested it on Splunk 8.1 and 8.0. Cheers,Seun

The first time it sees an event within your search window with one set of lat/long coordinates, it uses that as the first event for that pair. It will have a relative distance of 0.

There are a few extractions in the app that do that. Depending on your infrastructure, you may need to deploy the extractions to your search beards if it’s not a standalone instance.

I'll try add a work around, to maybe move any mails found with the problem to a folder. Some emails that might come with a different encoding may not be supported by the limited Python that comes out of the box with Splunk. You could also try using phantom to consume the emails. It may support the full character set.

There’s a limited number of encoding supported by the Python that comes with Splunk. Your email server is using an unsupported encoding. I’ve seen this issue with cPanel.

I have to try add some extra logic to continue reading using the message UID, instead of reading each message in the mailbox and comparing to the checkpoint. Might have time during the summer for that.
It’s currently reading all mails and skipping mails that have already been read, hence the increased lag time. It would be faster if it reads and deletes it.

Hi Alex,
It's something to do with the codecs not being supported in the python that comes with Splunk. It would actually be better if your channel mail settings were UTF8. Not sure yet if i can find a way to add additional character sets to this. But i'll let you know following some research.

what version of the app are you using? And what value do you have in your inputs.conf for mailbox_cleanup ?
Try adding this to your config if you dont already have a value set:

I'm about to upload 1.3.7dev. Please try it out and let me know how it goes. I actually try sending some kanji, but my system sends it out using UTF8, so it works.

For now, it would discard it. Until I have some time to work on a different way to work on the encoding. Some codecs are just not supported by the limited python included with Splunk. You still got the headers.
You can use read only.

Hi Again,
That encoding is not supported in the python included with Splunk. Splunk enterprise packages a small subset of the entire python libraries. Not sure how the missing libraries can be added to Splunk, but probably best to leave that for now.
For now, I edited the code to try to make it read it as ascii and escape characters greater than 127.
Please try version 1.3.5 of the app, and let me know how it goes. Still needs a bit of testing, but I've made it available for now, so you can try it out.
