Hi
I would like to send more than hundred thousand (100,000) events as a CSV attachment to email. When I fire this search with this requirement, I get a message in email as Only the first 10000 of 123968 results are included in the attached csv. I have tried changing the configuration file at $Splunk_Home\etc\system\local\alert_action.conf with [default] maxresults=10000 to maxresults=100000 , but all in vain.
People to whom I will send this report are not supposed to access the Splunk Server, so am email attachment is only option for now.

@Amohlmann thanks for quick response, i undertand that out of box splunk does not have this capability . but there is an app for the same. i want to integrate that app or write my own python/js files to do this action

I have dashboards consisting of panels. There are also drilldowns on these panels to different view. For exporting results of panels, out of box options available are CSV, XML, JSON. I would like to have an option for Excel, either as an option or some button on my dashboards or panels.

I would like to customize my html file in views of app. I also want to set it as default . When i try doing it using
<a href="my_page_html default="true">My Page/</a>
i get my navigation header proper, but landing page looks for first <view > tag and if not present it takes from default.xml and presents alert/dashboards. how to fix this issue. I am trying using splunk 6 XML to html converted file

Instead of grouping, place them in seperate panels and than a little css trick can help you remove border between the charts . and they will look as iff they are in same row and in single panel.

i have a panel in my dashboard which i need to give a restriction based on roles. one group should only get panel in read format , they should not be able to search data from panel,from search link and from drill down , while other group should belong to power user group which will be able to do drill down and search from link and also search as well from panel.

I am also trying to install 6.2.1 on Windows 7 English version. I had 6.1 before, but when I tried upgrading it to 6.2.1, it gave a message "splunk enterprise setup wizard ended prematurely" after running long enough. The second approach i took was to uninstall 6.1 and then do a fresh install of the 6.2.1 version, but in vain. Does any one have any idea on this?

I am trying to use predict command from Splunk for predictive analysis. I would like to know certain details about different algorithms options based on kalman filter.
1. LL
2. LLP
3. LLT
4. LLB
When to use which algorithms? What does each of them interpret. Splunk wwebsite does not have detailed documentation for the same. I have followed these two from website.About Predictive Analysis and Search Reference-Predict. Any help is appreciated.

I am currently using 0.8.1 shuttl version , and i am also using shuttl/conf/backend/hdfs.properties to point to my NameNode of Hadoop setup/cluster.
i have also copied core jar and guava 0.9 jar to my shuyyl/lib folder
i am not able to see any details on dashboard .

Hello
I have couple of issues regarding Shuttl with HDFS archiving . situation is as follows.
i have a CDH3 cluster and on another machine i have my splunk indexer where i have put shuttl app.
I have also copied core and guava-r09-jarjar.jar to $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/shuttl/lib as per requirement.
first thing arises is , is this a correct architecture for Splunk shuttl deployment.
secondaly , while configuring xmls (archiver.xml,server.xml,splunk.xml) which configuration file should i use to point my CDH3 hosts, i.e how will my Splunk/Shuttl will know where to archive my Splunk data .

I am facing issue while using Exchange app for Splunk . I am not getting data rendered in widget of my dashboard
In overview -> Service Availability .. it displays NO RESULTS FOUND . when I inspect query
eventtype=msexchange-topology | dedup Name | eval Service=split(ServicesNotRunning,",") | eval ServiceCount=if(ServicesNotRunning!="",mvcount(Service),0) | table Name,Service,ServiceCount | addcoltotals fieldname=Service labelfield=Name label="# Problem Services" | eval Service=if(Name="# Problem Services",ServiceCount,Service) | search Name="# Problem Services" OR ServiceCount>0 | table Name,Service
and hit it in search I get result as
Name Services
1.# Problem Services 0
Now practically this value should be rendered in dashboard.
