That's not much to work with. What do you mean by "does not show"? Are you sure Splunk is running? Which version of Splunk? What platform? Have you checked splunkd.log?

When I run the start command for splunk, there is no line that says Splunk Web GUI has started with a port. We are running version 9.0.0 on a Linux Virtual OS Appliance. We have currently shut down our systems until January, so I will send a splunkd.log when we turn on the system
