I want to change the index location on one of my dev servers. I deleted it in the gui, but now when I try to recreate it (and point it to a new location), Splunk is telling me that it already exists. Are there additional steps that need to be done?
Use the indexes.conf configuration file to change the path instead of the ui manager. And move the files to the new location before restarting splunk.
