RBAC Management Automation

If I use the RBAC API, and others available, how would a typical scenario play out if I wanted to programmatically create custom roles with permissions, and then assign these roles to custom groups?

Hi Ketan,

We understand you are referring to following documents.

https://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO45/RBAC+API#RBACAPI-CreateRole

It appears that the RBAC API  cannot assign permissions to roles. We do have an enhancement request raised already for this.

Thanks,

Yogesh

Understood.

However, while we wait for the API functionality to be added, what can we do in the interim to make role creation repeatable and consistent? How are other enterprise customers managing this?

Hi Ketan,

As of now, you can only assign the permissions to the roles using the controller UI only.

Thanks,

Yogesh

When is the enhancement to be able to automate role creation / amendment expected to be delivered?
