Not at all

As you can see here:

https://www.appdynamics.com/community/exchange/extension/rabbitmq-monitoring-extension/

It only requires http access. You can even monitor multiples instances from the same machine agent.

#Get the stats
    curl http://localhost:9090/api/stats
    #Get the registered metrics
    curl http://localhost:9090/api/metric-paths
