...

But the web_service.log just include the INFO Level log, no error message.

Environment:

OS:win7 Pro 64bit
Splunk version:4.3.1,4.3.2 64bit
Browser:Firefox,IE,Google Chrome

I'm getting this message as well. It started when I created a user, and my own role for that user. There is something in the role that is causing the user login to display this error.

I reset my browser (history, cookies, everything), go back to my Splunk server, so I can see the login page. Then log in as an Admin and change the role that I assigned to my created user.

I found capability that needs to be assigned with the role. rest_properties_get. Make sure that is added to the role.

How did you solve this problem?

Ensure the splunkweb service is started. If it is, I would try to restart it and check the windows event logs for any details it could give.
