LDAP Authentication not saving

Please help I am trying to add LDAP Authentication but get the following error.

Encountered the following error while trying to save: Splunkd daemon is not responding: ('Error connecting to /servicesNS/admin/splunk_app_windows_infrastructure/authentication/providers/LDAP: The read operation timed out',)

Any help will be much appreciated . I am new to Splunk.

Make sure that you have network connectivity to your LDAP server.

We experienced the same issue, the fix seems to be the addition of User base filter and Group base filter at value: (objectclass=*) We are now bound to LDAP and operating.
