Archived Metrics is part of Splunk's Metrics Pipeline Management and helps filter and archive metrics data into low-cost storage for more data and cost control

The new database performance sidebar surfaces the relevant database performance metrics directly on the APM pages and provides a direct link to the related IM navigator for faster in-context triage. 

Select the new Add filters option to apply filters based on any dimension or property across the Infrastructure Monitoring landing page to view only the summary cards relevant to your resources.

Alerts with matching Infrastructure Monitoring metrics and properties will include a dynamic link to the matching IM navigator with time and entity filters already applied.

We’re making some changes to Data Management, as well as Infrastructure Inventory for AWS. The Data Management page, which is the landing page for getting-data in Splunk Observability, now shows the list of Available Integrations and Data Config tools as tabs. The lists of EC2 instances and EKS clusters with Collector installation status are up-leveled by included as tabs with the list of AWS integrations.

Scheduled Export for Dashboard Studio is finally here! 

Dynamically filter and re-direct metrics data into a low-cost store with Metrics Pipeline Management’s newly launched “Archived Metrics” tier, for better cost control and storage utilization.

With this release, Splunk Observability Cloud now offers native support for histograms as a metric data type, allowing users to efficiently capture and transmit distributions of measurements and enabling statistical calculations like percentiles.

We’re making some changes to the team landing page in Splunk Observability, based on your feedback. The  page now shows alerts and dashboards more efficiently, and it's easier to find the alerts and dashboards you’re interested in.

You can now search for Splunk APM service maps, service views, traceIDs, workflows and Splunk Infrastructure navigator names using the search feature in the upper-right-hand corner, regardless of the page you're on in Splunk Observability.

The Splunk Custom Visualizations apps End of Life for SimpleXML will reach end of support on Dec 21, 2024, after which no new versions will be released and the app will be archived from Splunkbase. 

Splunk APM now provides visibility into asynchronous transactions don’t have a direct parent-child relationship through OTEL Span Links. Span links help you to manage operations in distributed systems, where operations don’t follow linear execution patterns and preserve span context when producer spans create jobs that are asynchronously processed later.
