As a Splunk Observability user, you have a lot of data you have to manage, prioritize, and troubleshoot on a day to day basis. Instead of only seeing items related to your team, you have to constantly filter from page to page, and aren’t able to see a one-stop preview.

Today, we are excited to announce that you can now see everything related to your team directly on your homepage. Easily see your Splunk APM services, dashboards, top alerts, and team members of every team you’re part of, and join teams directly on the homepage.

Previously, the teams curation landing page lived within the dashboards section of Splunk Observability, which allowed users to associate dashboards with specific teams. However, many of you requested the need to associate more than just dashboards.

Simply navigate to your Home page to view the teams you’re a member of, for an overview of your APM services, top alerts, and dashboards. Not yet part of a team? Easily preview potential teams by selecting “view all teams” to join teams you’re not yet a member.

If Splunk APM is also a part of your workflow, you can now navigate to the APM page to see services filtered down to the ones most relevant to your team. If you need to zoom out to see all your services, you can also un-filter.

As an administrator I should not be restricted to only view the teams I am part of.  The drop-down teams selection should highlight the teams I'm part of or all other teams.

This facilitates the ability to view what other teams view on their landing page

This is good feedback for us to consider. For now, you can still view all teams that are in your organization under the teams management page, which exists in Settings.

On the left nav, select Settings > Team management and you should be able to see all your teams and all the teams in your org.

Hope that helps!

This is helpful to a degree.

Our environment works on the least privilege model and with multiple teams (internal customers) we need the ability to restrict what a team has access to see.  Thus team A should only see servers in infrastructure, APM, RUM, etc that are related to their business needs. Team B should only see their environment and the same for team C and other specific teams.  I know at the dashboard level it is possible for dashboards created for their use, but I am not seeing the ability to do this as we need. We also need more granular RBAC settings between the read_only and the power_user roles.

@Lonestardiver Check out our newly released custom roles functionality that is available as a part of the Unified Identity with centralized user and role management integration across Splunk Cloud and O11y.  This feature will let you construct custom variations of the Power role. In the future, we will look to expand our work here to enable full customization of O11y roles.

That's great when we are able to complete the migration to splunk cloud. Until such time as well as others that may not be moving to splunk cloud anytime soon it is a limitation.
