where is license master installed?

License Master is installed during the input phase or on the indexer? Kindly clear the confusion, I was thinking it happens at the input phase itself.

Hi @palisetty,
License Master is a role of one of the Splunk Servers in a distributed architecture ( see at https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/8.0.1/Admin/Configurealicensemaster ).
Usually is configured during Indexers Installation on a server used also for other roles (the Master Node, or one of the Indexers), because license adding is usually done in the first phases of the installation.
There's no relation with the input phase that usually is on Forwarders (Universal or Heavy).
