splunk licensing

I'm working to develop solutions for Splunk for my corporate environment. I don't manage nor do I work on Splunk production servers. Yet, my role requires that I setup, use, and test Splunk. My issue is the licensing keeps getting in my way. I have no issue with literally installing and configuring a "fresh" instance everyday however, it almost seems that Splunk knows that it's been installed on host before.

I'm not trying to use Splunk without a license. We have a corporate license. However I cannot tap into that for development and testing. For testing clusters, upgrades, and other features, I cannot use the "free" version of Splunk. Any ideas on how to deal with this?

There are two non-production licenses available:

10GB Developer licenses are available to all users and can be requested here: https://dev.splunk.com/enterprise/dev_license - the approval process is manual, so please allow 2-3 business days for a response. 50GB Personalized Dev/Test licenses are available to users associated with an account with a paid Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud license and can be requested using this form: https://splunk.com/dev-test - the approval process is automated, so if you don't receive a response within a day, reach out to your Splunk sales representative.

You could either use your corporation's enterprise license by connecting to their license master if you are not indexing a lot of data or you could get a developer license if you meet the requirements.
