Why can't I access Splunk Server from Unbuntu?

How do access the splunk service from using an unbuntu OS? Yes i already enables boot at start up when i first installed it. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Assuming Splunk is installed on the same Ubuntu server, use a browser to go to https://localhost:8000

Make sure there are no firewalls blocking that connection.
