Distributing License from License manager error

I keep getting an error when trying to distribute the license from the license manager.

Won't allow me to distribute license, session either times out or get error code different each time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As richgalloway write.  There should be one License Manager and all servers that need License should talk to that server on port 8089 (can be changed).  Servers running full splunk like Search Head, Heavy forwarders, Indexes, HEC etc needs to be able to talk to LM Server.

as @richgalloway said, Splunk License Master doesn't distribute licenses, but the other server connect to it to use the license.

About your error: did you opened the port 8089 routes between the License Master and the other servers?

You can check this using telnet.

What do you mean by "distribute license"?  Licenses are not distributed.  They're installed on the LM and the other instances contact the LM.

What exactly are you trying to do and how exactly are you trying to do it?
