REST API Update

UPDATE:
I just downloaded the sourcecode from the SVN repository and made the modification myself and rebuilt the jar. Not optimal, but at least I'm back up and running. For others having this problem, grab the source, make the mod posted in the link below, and rebuild the jar.

I see on the google page that the REST API Jar hasnt been updated since 2009, but there are open issues in the tracker that seem to be stale. One of them involves a simple search. Is anyone planning on fixing these issues? I'd love to be able to use the Java REST Api, but if I can't even perform a simple search without an error due to an invalid ! in the code, it's a problem.
