Hi,

Is there a document on replacing a search-head deployer? My existing server is being decommed and I need to replace it.

There’s no migration document that I know of currently, but you can follow the process of a deployer failure that’s here : http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.6.3/DistSearch/PropagateSHCconfigurationchanges#How_to...

The process is similar. What you really need to do is migrate the shcluster folder structure and any shclustering stanza configurations you have on the deployer.

Hopefully you’re using DNS, and not IP, so you can just update your dns records and not have to worry about changing configs for hosts pointing at the deployer.
