How do define different widths for 2 or more dashboard panels in the same row?

Hi,

I would like to configure the size of dashboard panels in the same row

Using <option name="height">300px</option> in the XML view works fine, but <option name="width">300px</option> has not effect.

What can I do to achieve my goal?

Unfortunately, this is not something you can do with XML. You'll need to use Javascript/CSS for that, I would suggest having a look at how it's done in the Splunk 6.x Dashboard Examples App.
