How do I create a saved search and display the results on an HTML Dashboard?

I am trying to create a saved search and display the information on a Dashboard within HTML tags.

Hi srobinsonxtl,

install the Splunk dashboard example app https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/1603/ and in there look at the following dashboard:

app/simple_xml_examples/simple_search_report

This will show you a working example how to create a dashboard using reports or saved searches. It also includes a lot of other great examples.

I guess I am looking more for a tutorial. I found a couple of articles but it didn't seem to make since to me. It seems l believe I know how to create the saved search, but seems like its not running in the background. Thank you for getting back to me.
