Installation Help

Hello,

I am trying to install PHP agent but I am getting an error. Not able to fix it. Can someome please help me here. I downloaded the file using "Agent Download Wizerd". unzipped it and ran the installer.

The server is running Centos 6.6 with basic nginx / php-fpm / MariaDB setup. Running only one WP Blog.

Hi,

Sometimes we see this behavior when PHP is not installed at the standard location. Could you please try with shell installer which have the flags to pass on "extensions directory" and "ini directory" to the installer. Please refer the document link https://docs.appdynamics.com/display/PRO40/Install+the+PHP+Agent+using+a+Shell+Script for more information on this.

Well,

I have tried almost everything I could think off ... (And I admit I m not a high end expert) But I couldn't get it working. My 14 days free trial has expired .. (And you can confirm it was not in use) 

I ended up using NewRelic. I dont' know if appdynamics is any better compare to NewRelic, but it sure is difficult to install as hell. 

I have setup NewRelic on 3 VPS so far and it took me less than 30 mins to get it all working on all threee of them. Whereas I spent hours truing to figure out to get appdynamics working. 

Sorry to say, not a good experience here. And your trial should be from the day appdynamics starts working Not from the day someone signs up ... I bet many users like me end up not using it just because installation process is not easy. 

Just my 2 cents. Probably wont make any difference at your end. But still, wont hurt writing all that.

We are really sorry to hear this from you. We are always here to help you with any issues you may encounter in using our product.

If feasible, I still suggest you to setup another trial and try our shell script installer for PHP. In case you hit any installation issues, just provide us the installation error output along with the logs and we will try our best to get you going.

As far as the difference between AppDynamics and any other APM solution is considered, we are sure your perception will change once you see what level of internal diagnostics AppDynmics can show you about your instrumented application.
