We'll be setting up splunk modular input for SNMP polling and listening to traps and we wanted to know if there are any Splunk permission that we need to setup for accessing the servers?

No explicit Splunk permissions required.

At the OS level , if you open a port < 1024 for trap listening , ensure that the OS user you are running Splunk under has sufficient privileges for that port range.
