Howdy all,
I've been using the Google Maps add-on for some time now with no problems. Today when I tried to use one of the dashboards I have created there's no map visible. All I get is:
"Loading Google Maps API..."
but no map.
I've upgraded to the current version of the add-on so now I'm not sure what to do.
suggestions?
With the latest version of the Google Maps app (1.1.1) it should work fine in Chrome. The only problem is when SSL is enabled for Splunkweb. Chrome will block the Google Maps API (because its loaded via HTTP).

I fixed it manually, but the app needs to be fixed...
$SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/maps/appserver/modules/GoogleMaps/GoogleMaps.js
add: 'https:'
Chrome Console still shows this: Seems to be an app issue still with 1.1.2.
[blocked] The page at https://splunk/en-US/app/maps/maps ran insecure content from http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false&version=v3.6&callback=_gmapsOnLoad.
Have you tried to clear the browser cache? It that doesn't work, please take a look at the browser's console and see if you can find any error messages.
I just updated to 1.1.2, but it does the same thing where it's stuck at loading google maps api. Any ideas?
yes, I'll upload an updated version of the app sometime later today.
Is there a way to have SSL enabled for splunkweb and still be able to use google maps?
I wasn't aware that the maps app had stopped working with Chrome, I'm almost certain it used to work fine for me. Do you know what changed?
Actually I'm going to take the blame on this one. I was using Chrome instead of Firefox. Once I switched browsers it worked just fine. So color me knucklehead.
Can you see any Javascript Error in your Browser console?
