Automating the install of Splunk MC

We are a large distributed shop that has a requirement for all things automated. I have most of my deployment automated, with a few exceptions... One of these exceptions is the Splunk Management Console. Does anyone have any Splunk ninja tricks to automate the setup of MC? Is it an app? Any thoughts are welcome!

What exactly within the MC are you trying to automate?

The MC uses several conf files and some lookups. You’ll probably want to configure it a couple times in development and see what all is modified then replicate that in your automation code.

Check out the saved searches that generate the asset lookups etc. you’ll want to automate the execution of those searches and then figure out what to modify in the other conf files. It sounds like you’ve got what it takes, so I have no doubt you’ll figure it out from there.
