Check under Manager » System settings » Email alert settings:
Set the host that sends mail for this Splunk instance. If reset to local host remove and add your mail host.

Are you using splunk 4.3.0 or 4.3.1 with windows ?
Upgrade to 4.3.2 if possible, there is a bug that was fixed in 4.3.2

see http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/latest/ReleaseNotes/4.3.2

On Windows, upload a new app from the manager returns "error processing the upload" , changing a server to license-slave fails for "invalid string uri" and the sendemail script and email alerts fail. This occurs only if the user is not using the default server time zone in his or her profile. (SPL-48993)

Hi Support, did any one get a resolution here.

I upgrade our single Splunk instance from 7.2.2 to 8.3.1 latest version and email alerts has stopped working. I also upgrade the Windows OS from 2012 R2 to 2019 afterwards still no luck.

Please, help me resolve this issue ASAP, urgently.
