At Splunk, developers are at the heart of innovation. That’s why this year at .conf25, we officially launched the Splunk Developer Program.

The energy at .conf25 made it clear: developers are eager for a centralized home where they can access tools, support and recognition to build faster and showcase their expertise.

Strong Start at .conf25

During the week of .conf25, +1400 developers have signed up for the program. Many discovered it at the Builder Bar, in technical sessions or during conversations with the Splunk Developer Relations team.

Why We Built This Program

We heard your feedback: Developer tools were scattered, support was inconsistent and recognition opportunities were limited. Many told us it was challenging to navigate fragmented resources or to get help when troubleshooting.

The Splunk Developer Program solves these challenges by bringing everything together into one unified experience:

  • Centralized tooling and guidance: Access SDKs, APIs, Splunk Cloud Developer Edition (SCDE), app packaging tools and tutorials.

  • Expert support at every step: The new Developer Advisory & Support (DAS) team offers free technical guidance and help with app design and debugging.

  • Engagement and recognition: Join the Developer Advisory Council (DAC), build your reputation through developer profiles and community spotlights.

Excitement at .conf25

The response during .conf25 was inspiring. Hundreds of developers signed up for the program during the week, many stopping by the Builder Bar to learn more or signing up directly on dev.splunk.com

Spotlight on Splunk Cloud Developer Edition (SCDE) - Private Preview

One of the most talked-about elements was the Splunk Cloud Developer Edition (SCDE). Although it is currently in Private Preview, curiosity was immense and developers immediately asked how to get on the waitlist. SCDE provides a dedicated Splunk Cloud environment to test, build and experiment.

To be considered, developers should sign up or log in to the Developer Program, then click the “Request Interest” button on the homepage. After submitting, you’ll be notified once your request has been reviewed, verified and approved.

We’ve already seen strong demand, and we plan to open additional spots soon. So if you’re interested, make sure you request access today through dev.splunk.com.

Note: SCDE is currently operating as a private preview program. Members of the Developer Program can express their interest in participating today and be considered for early access.

Meet the Developer Advisory & Support (DAS) Team

Another highlight was the introduction of the Developer Advisory & Support (DAS) team. This new group is dedicated to helping developers build apps and add-ons successfully, answering technical questions and surfacing feedback to Splunk product teams. Developers told us they were excited to know there is now a team they can count on for direct support. DAS will also be active in the developer community and provide code-level guidance.

Introducing the Developer Advisory Council (DAC) 2.0

Another exciting highlight from .conf25 was the restart of the Developer Advisory Council (DAC). The DAC 2.0 is designed to bring together app developers and partners who want to share feedback, influence Splunk’s developer roadmap and showcase innovative use cases.

The interest at .conf25 was immediate and developers told us they’re eager to join a group where their voices can directly shape the tools, resources and experiences Splunk delivers. Customers and partners also saw the DAC as an opportunity to collaborate, exchange best practices and highlight the value of their contributions within the broader Splunk ecosystem.
