I had successfully installed Splunk Light (Free) yesterday, and was able to log into it (as "admin" user) without a problem. However, I tried to log into it again today and I received the following error message:
This site can’t be reached
localhost refused to connect.
Did you mean http://localhost8000.com/?
Search Google for localhost 8000
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
So, my question for you is which computer is "localhost" referring to? Is it referring to the computer on which Splunk Light was being installed, or the Splunk Light server?
Yesterday, after successfully installed Splunk Light, I had logged in as "admin" user and uploaded some data, did some searches and created a report, I noticed Splunk Light indicated that the host name was my computer name on which Splunk Light was being installed. So, after I received the aforementioned error message when trying to start Splunk Light (http://localhost:8000), I then substituted the "localhost" with the IP address of the computer on which Splunk Light was installed and received the same error message still.
I further tried to re-install Splunk Light and was told it had been already installed. I don't know what else to do.
Please help.
Thank you so very much!
Nancy
