I created a data model under CEF app and made it visible to everyone in context of CEF app. Why is data model not visible in the drop down for creating new cef outputs? It becomes visible when you share it in context of ALL apps? When it is already created in context of Splunk app for CEF, shouldn't it be visible in data model drop down on new CEF output page automatically if it is shared with read access to everyone? ... Let's say there are 20 MS-SQL servers. Are you suggesting to monitor sql audit log files of binary format using UF on all MS-SQL servers and stream that binary data to a heavy forwarder on a port? How will heavy forwarder be able to decide which specific MS-SQL server instance to connect to for interpreting binary events coming in from multiple MS-SQL server instances on a single port? Can you please share some sample configurations to elaborate your answer? I also notice that platform of heavy forwarder is mentioned to be windows. So I guess even if you install windows UF on MS-SQL servers, you need another windows machine to create heavy forwarder? ... View more

Hi Did anybody face following issue with fedora 3.11.10 splunk installation: [root@splunk bin]# ./splunk start Splunk> All batbelt. No tights. Checking prerequisites... Checking http port [8000]: open Checking mgmt port [8089]: open ..... ..... All preliminary checks passed. Starting splunk server daemon (splunkd)... ERROR: pid 8610 terminated with signal 11 splunkweb process is able to start without any issue. I have tried clean uninstall and re-install with both rpm and tar packages: splunk-6.1.3-220630-Linux-i686.tgz Requesting splunk team and community members to help resolve the issue. Thanks ...
