I've been adding eval expression attributes using the spath(_raw,Parent.Child{@attribute}) method to get at all my xml attribute=value pairs.

To be more specific, create /opt/splunkforwarder/etc/system/local/web.conf and add: [settings] mgmtHostPort = 127.0.0.1:6060 Then, in /opt/splunkforwarder/etc/system/local/server.conf add: [httpServer] disableDefaultPort = true Then restart the forwarder and it should not be listening on any port.

We've found that if you add a web.conf with an alternate listening port along with the disableDefaultPort directive, it starts up without listening on any port.
