We previously used a Splunk Enterprise Free Trial account for testing purposes. The trial period/license has now expired, and our local Splunk Enterprise installation has fallen back to the Splunk Free license. Command executed: sudo /opt/splunk/bin/splunk add licenses /tmp/enttrial.lic Error received: failed to add, stackid=download-trial maps to invalid gid The license file we attempted to use contains: <type>download-trial</type> <group_id>Trial</group_id> After this issue, Splunk is showing license enforcement messages: "Your Splunk license expired or you have exceeded your license limit too many times. Renew your Splunk license by visiting www.splunk.com/store or calling 866.GET.SPLUNK." Searches are now failing with: Error in 'litsearch' command: Your Splunk license expired or you have exceeded your license limit too many times. Warning count: 30 Request: Could you please help us obtain a valid Splunk Enterprise Trial license file compatible with Splunk Enterprise 10.4.2? We are using this environment for lab/testing purposes and would like to continue evaluating Splunk Enterprise features.
