It appears that the issue was entirely caused by Splunk. I experienced the same problem after installing Splunk on my Windows 11 (non-server) machine for a trial run. Immediately following the installation, my entire 😧 drive became inaccessible. Fortunately, I was able to restore access by reassigning permissions to my user account, after which all files and folders became accessible again. I also noticed that the Splunk installation created three separate folders—etc, var, and share—which is unusual, as those are typically associated with Linux file systems. To clarify, I did not download the incorrect version; I am certain that the installer is a .msi file. At this point, I am unable to determine how to launch the application. There does not appear to be an executable (.exe) file or any clear method to start Splunk locally on my PC.
