Thanks all of you for your help. I uninstalled and reinstalled splunk enterprise and realized it was splunk forwarder that was giving me the issue. Apparently, i used a wrong port for the receiving indexer. Thanks again. ... View more

Thanks for your help. Splunk is running but its not communicating with 127.0.0.1:8000.  Created to make that determination. As far as the wf both splunk services and splunk forwarder are both running. Maybe uninstall it?  Should I mention I have splunk unbuntu installed in my VM.  Thanks  ... View more

Hello and help.  I've downloaded Splunk enterprise and initially was able to connect to the dashboard then all of a sudden I started to receive the Message "This site can't be reached". I've deleted cache and cookies per support then was nicely led to community support. Also, I deleted and added inbound rules for Splunk 9997 and splunk web. Thanks   ... View more
