I already checked this tutorial. However it didn't provide right answer for my question... I want to know good index to search from objective to right comamnds. Is it only way to search docs.splunk.com with related words manually?

Folks, I'm new to SPL worlds. Please advice right direction to learn splunk search. Environment: proxy log search Situation: Some clients sent massive HTTP request in a small period of time to various destinations. (I doubt this clients are infected by malware) How can I find this client by Splunk search with proxy or firewall log? transaction command will help to find how many sessions generated by single IP, but I don't know next steps.

Folks,
Does anyone know when we configure advanced secution in Source Type (Settings>SourceTypes and Edit), where is original configuration file where the advanced view shows?
I choose "linux_secure" source type and check advanced tab. I saw "src" and "src_ip" in search result for my data that used this source type. However I could't find any settings for these fields. So I though there were missing configurations in this tab and I wanted to know source configuration files for each source types.
Please someone share your knowledge.

Folks, Please clarify if my understanding is correct or not. We can see current system requirement of linux kernel version at below link. https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/latest/Installation/Systemrequirements From this page, my understanding is splunk officially support "ANY" linux distribution that uses supported kernel version. So if I use Debian10 with kernel 5.4 or 4.x, I can use UF on that environment. Am I right?

Yes, it worked. The point to work this app is two tips in my car, right path in conf file and upload app at installation. 1st one, sample_bundle.zip has sample conf file but it is not right path for related configuration files, so we should adjust it to each installation environment. 2nd one, I don’t know why when I use online installation for this app, I found missing configuration in configuration>data input. I used file upload to do this, it worked good. I hope this is work for you.

Folks, I tried to install Eventgen, however I looked no working after install instruction of GitHub. (Download from splunkbase and upload it into web UI and enabled.) My splunk is 9.0.4.1 on my windows laptop for testing. Does anyone gove me advice, where should I check active .conf file or where I can see this app is correctly working.
