In this latest release of Enterprise Security (ES), we are excited to announce that Detection Studio and Exposure Analytics are now generally available (GA) for both ES Essential and ES Premier customers.
These latest enhancements to ES underscore our commitment to delivering a best-in-class SecOps platform.
Manage the Full Detection Engineering Lifecycle
Detection Studio is integrated within ES so that detection engineers can plan, develop, test, deploy, and monitor detections – without pivoting to other tools. You can now:
Accelerate the Detection Engineering Lifecycle: Optimize time to value by supporting teams to confidently test and deploy actionable, high-value detections.
Validate Detection Quality and Data Integrity: Automatic insight into detection quality, performance, and coverage to evaluate strengths, gaps, and opportunities to improve detections effectiveness.
Command Strategic Detection Coverage and Posture: Measure and understand their detection coverage of fundamental behaviors against the industry-leading framework and stay up-to-date with evolving threat actor TTPs.

Strengthen Your Posture, Accelerate Your Response
In addition to Detection Studio, we are thrilled to introduce Exposure Analytics in ES.
Security teams often struggle with "Visibility Gaps" - dealing with stale, static asset records while trying to defend an increasingly dynamic attack surface. Exposure Analytics bridges this gap by leveraging your existing Splunk data to provide continuous, proactive visibility.
With Exposure Analytics, you can:
Maximize Visibility with Autonomous Entity Discovery: Continuous discovery builds accurate, complete inventories of assets and users, while also uncovering shadow, dormant, and ephemeral entities. With a full historical record of discoveries, relationships, and changes over time, teams gain the deep context and forensic insight needed to investigate with confidence.
Accelerate Response with Entity-Aware Investigations: Slash mean-time-to-respond (MTTR) by enriching alerts with full entity context, helping teams focus and prioritize investigations faster. Comprehensive entity attribution identifies the “Who, What, and When” directly within your existing ES workflow, to move from alert to answer with greater speed and clarity.
Command your Strategic Risk Posture: Use the entity discovery and analysis views to uncover security control gaps, support proactive exposure remediation, and reduce risk before threats escalate. The Attack Surface Explorer helps reveal evolving relationships across the environment, while shareable filtering helps isolate specific groups of entities for deeper analysis.
By embedding these capabilities directly into the unified threat detection, investigation, and response (TDIR) workflow, Exposure Analytics acts as the "Entity Truth Layer," bridging the gap between static IT records and the dynamic reality of your environment.
Expanded ES Cloud Feature Access for Customer-Managed Environments*
In ES 8.5, we’re introducing Cloud Connect in AWS Commercial environments. With this new capability, we’re bringing Threat Intelligence Management and Detection Studio features directly to on-premises or your customer managed environment so you can experience the latest cloud features of ES directly in your environment.
*Cloud Connect is not supported for GCP & Azure CMP customers
Other enhancements you’ll see in ES 8.5 include:
Measure detection hits in the editor across raw events, findings, or intermediate findings, or run detections against live production data using a new test status that isolates all output in dedicated indexes and a separate test queue. This makes it easier to validate performance, compare detection versions, and tune before promotion.
Detection tuning (in beta) complements this by identifying noisy fields and values in real time with projected false positive reduction metrics and letting analysts apply direct or relational exclusions to detection logic before saving, improving alert fidelity without sacrificing detection coverage.
