@alexokey it was a while ago, I do not really remember. sorry. You can try owning the parent splunk directory to avoid that. usually it works, at least for me. chown -R splunk:splunk /opt/splunk/

Hi,
I have a dashboard that I have to create on Dashboard Studio, but I also have to use a dropdown input that gets its values from a lookup.
So far I didn't find any way to create the input based on " | inputlookup <lookup_name>" search results.
Can someone assist with that?

Hi, I'm trying to use the Splunk Add-On for VMware with the DCN OVA. The installation process is done according to the docs, but when trying to configure the DCN for data collection, I'm getting the below error: "You are attempting to configure the data collection features of this system, but this has not been enabled. to enable this system to be used as a data collection scheduler, add the "splunk_vmware_admin" role to the admin account." The admin role has the correct permissions and roles assigned to it, but I'm still getting the error. NOTE: When I used the "OVA Metrics" the configuration process finished as expected, but I would like to use the one without the metrics. Any idea?

So it was a splunk user permissions issue on the app's directories.. once I've added the required permissions I was able to add DCN.

Hi,
I'm trying to get logs from a vCenter server using the DCN. On the Collection Configuration page, I'm trying to add a new DCN (and or) VC, but after filling all the relevant fields, I can see a "loading" pop-up for last than a second, and then the pop-up just disappears and no any DCN or VC is added.
Does anyone saw this behavior before?
