For anyone facing this issue and still looking for an answer, you need to use url encoded parameters to be passed to the request. The request was successful only after this change was made.

The password field in HTTP basic authentication section or the secret fields in OAuth authentication section of the rest api input form are not masked fields. The passwords are shown in clear text not even while just entering them but while listing the inputs.

But looks like it is not still fixed? I used splunk app for netapp 2.1.4 which displayed the same message when connecting to Ontap version 7.3.3 (unsupported by splunk as per documentation)

I started Splunk on a Linux VM on virtual box. I am trying to browse the Splunk console using http://:8000 after the daemon is started and it gives the request timed out error in the browser. What could be the reason? Any help is appreciated.
