The trick was to also enter in hosts file the local server's hostname (for some reason it was not configured...) and to connect with authentication. But now I'm stuck again, I am able to connect to the my distant JMX server, but I don't seem to have the permissions to access the JMX Indicators and I get the following error for all my indicators : "javax.management.JMRuntimeException: ADMN0022E: Access is denied for the getStats operation on ThreadPool MBean because of insufficient or empty credentials." Hi, I am also interrested in setting up a splunk monitoring for websphere via this add-on. It works out of the box in a local setup, giving the JMW plugin the local jmx's pid, but I am unable to get it to send me data in a distributed setup (Websphere and Splunk on two different servers), communicating by iiop/jndi as specified in the documentation... I tried opening the firewall ports, editing /etc/hosts.conf with my Websphere server IP, but I'm still not able to get any data in Splunk. Could you tell me what I'm missing please? Thanks! ...
