Trying to connect to Oracle 18c db, I have followed the instructions in the troubleshooting guide https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/3.3.0/DeployDBX/Troubleshooting "Connect Splunk DB Connect to Oracle Wallet environments using ojdbc8" without any luck.
I'm getting the following error "[dw-58 - POST /api/connections/status] ERROR io.dropwizard.jersey.errors.LoggingExceptionMapper - Error handling a request: 2a01705792fdb22a java.lang.NullPointerException: null
at com.splunk.dbx.connector.logger.AuditLogger.replace(AuditLogger.java:50)
at com.splunk.dbx.connector.logger.AuditLogger.error(AuditLogger.java:44)" regardless of what I put in the connection string which leads me to believe that the message is just disguising the real issue. I have the logs set to "DEBUG" but no information other than the null pointer exception mentioned above. I am able to connect to the DB from the server using sqlplus and show the connection string using tnsping.

The permissions are correct and are wide open. Other drivers are loading just certain ones are not. For example the file ojdbc8.jar version 18,3 loaded but the following did not (ojdbc8-libs/ons.jar, ojdbc8-libs/oraclepki.jar, ojdbc8-libs/orail8n.jar, ojdbc8-libs/osdt_cert.jar, ojdbc8-libs/osdt_core.jar, ojdbc8-libs/simplefan.jar, ojdbc8-libs/ucp.jar, ojdbc8-libs/xdb6.jar). Are these support files for ojdbc8.jar and therefore do not have to load?
Also, is there a updated dbx.jar that is located in the /opt/splunk/etc/apps/splunk_app_db_connect/drivers folder? Where does this jar file come from?

Trying to connect to Oracle OCI database. Upgrade search head to 7.0 and now getting the message in the splunkd.log. "WARN SSLCommon - Received fatal SSL3 alert. ssl_state='SSLv3 read client hello C', alert_description='protocol version'". I've read the post regarding the same issue when upgrading to 6.6.0 but do not see a solution.

Happens with all restarts with either the search head or search peer. We perform weekly restarts for maintenance purposes. I've created the distsearch.conf using both the splunk web and editing the distsearch.conf manually and everything is fine until we do a restart of splunk. For some reason it is not reestablishing that connection. This began when we upgraded the search peer (indexer) to 7.0. The search head is currently at 6.3.

After a restart, the "Distributed search > Search peer > status" is down and I have to reenter the authentication to reestablish the connection between the search head and the search peer.

I'm getting the 404 Page not found error. It's unable to find the "app/Splunk_TA_symantec-ep/setup" page. I'm not sure if everything is setup correctly. The universal forwarder is installed on the "Symantec" server, the "Symantec end point" app is installed on the "Splunk Search Head". Does the "Symantec end point" app need to be installed on both the forwarder and search head?

I'm not understanding the installation instructions. I currently have a forwarder installed on the Symantec server and it is forwarding data to the indexer. I've installed the Symantec add-on on the search head but getting error when trying to open the Symantec app. Does the app have to be installed on the indexer? What files do I need to configure and where?
