Hello,
When you say "options", are you talking about drop selections inside a dashboard, or utilizing the parsed fields inside a traditional splunk search?

Hello,
I'm currently running the latest version of the Web Analytics app. For some reason, the lookups do not populate user session or pages data. The validation tool within the documentation page are showing that the tagging is correct, the website configuration is correct, and the data model is accelerated. I've modified all the permissions on the app to be available to everyone and all apps, and changed the indexes searched by default to my role. So I'm fairly certain it's not a permissions issue at this point.
Does anyone know why it's not working? Is there a certain level of logging that may need to be enabled on the web server itself? I've gone into the actual data model itself, and tried previewing the lookups and they still turn up empty even though the raw data is there.

So I'm going to answer my own question. A fresh install of CentOS 6 blocks port 443 inbound by default. You have to modify the firewall settings to allow port 443.

I'm running the MAS server on CentOS 6.7. I've installed the MAS software on the server, and it's showing up and listening on port 443. However, when I try to access the web interface via my browser, I get "website not available" error. I followed the installation guidance on the web. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

This is resolved. The advanced functionality of these dashboards uses Javascript in the background. When using the NoScript plugin within Firefox, they are blocked even after the website itself has been whitelisted. App functions as expected.

Actually this seems to be an issue viewing the dashboard in Firefox. It works just fine inside Chrome. Are you using anything special in the latest version that might not be compatible?

Hello,
After upgrading to the latest version of the app, all of my dashboards are reporting "search is waiting for input...". I have inputs enabled that are actively retrieving data which is confirmed by a search of the sourcetype assigned to the inputs. The "submit" button also seems to be greyed out. Is this perhaps a typo in the XML?

Yes, however the geodatabase behind those maps is really unrealiable as it only gets updated when core Splunk does. Also, there's functionality associated with Google Maps such as street view that does not exist with the native maps feature.
What I'm looking for is a GeoIP database that I can update on demand, and a more dynamic, detailed map interface. Are there any paid apps perhaps? Or an API that I can hit for an existing service that I can imbed into a dashboard?

If you're using your Splunk server as a deployment server then you would edit the inputs.conf file in opt/splunk/etc/deploymentapps//local/inputs.conf and then once you made the change and restarted the server that configuration would automatically be pushed out.
Yes you can configure whitelists and blacklists at the same time. Just remember that the blacklists take precedent.
Splunk can handle up to 10 blacklists and whitelists. This is a good reference: http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.2.1/Data/MonitorWindowsdata#Create_advanced_filters_with_.27whitelist.27_and_.27blacklist.27

I would like to make use of the latest release of the Splunk App for Windows Infrastructure, but it's not letting me past the initial configuration stage because I'm not collecting AD logs. But we are collecting other winevent logs that are useful. Does anyone know how to perhaps skip the "Check data coming from your environment" step?
