We have numerous searches that are supposed to run every minute. They have run successfully for months now, but yesterday we found that they had suddenly stopped doing the Summary Indexing they are supposed to and the scheduled time on the "Manager -> Searches and Reports" page is in the past at the same point as the summary index stops being added to. If i check in the scheduler.log I can see the search being run with status=success before during and after the time mentioned on the Searches and Reports page. We are planning to split up our environments into different licenses. My questions are: should we have a violation on an individual license does that add to a global or individual (to the license) violation total. What will be the effect should we have 5 violations (within the rolling window) on a single license. Search blackout on that license or globally. The use case I really want to avoid is e.g. 5 violations from different licenses causing a global search blackout or 5 violations on a lower priority license (from our perspective, e.g. dev environment) causing a global search blackout. ... I have installed the splunk deployment monitor app to attempt to pull some stats on what our license usage patterns are. One issue I see right off the bat is that in 'Licence Report' -> 'Daily License Usage for Last 60 Days' -> Ordered 'by License Pool' it tells me we indexed 130GB which is ok, however this is above our license limit of 120GB yet I don't have any license warnings and other searches I have subsequently made myself show different values. Is the used search including non licensed data usage such as for the internal indexes? ... View more
