Hi,

What is the normal process count for splunkd?

Am having two processes for splunkd both for my forwarder & server.

forwarder # ps -ef  | grep splunkd | grep -v grep
root      6049     1  5 Dec06 ?        01:02:32 splunkd -p 8089 start
root      6050  6049  0 Dec06 ?        00:00:12 splunkd -p 8089 start


server  # ps -elf | grep splunkd
5 S root      8567     1 19  75   0 - 109635 stext 08:25 ?        00:00:08 splunkd -p 8089 restart
1 S root      8568  8567  0  75   0 - 10619 -      08:25 ?        00:00:00 splunkd -p 8089 restart

How to display the count and details of splunkd processes running at certain time in dashbaord ?

For what it's worth, note also that each of these is a parent process spawning a child (6049->6050 and 8567->8568), not multiple unrelated processes.
