Splunk api using python script

Greetings,

Could any one help to push JSON data of my application to splunk using splunk api. (Instead of using splunk forwarder I am trying to push data in splunk server using splunk API )

You would find it easier to use http event collector instead of the API if your data is in JSON and you are in python.
